4th February 2008 Track of the Tigers first Environmental English Camp a success!
On February 2nd and 3rd 2008 the British Council Thailand generously sponsored 20 Thai students, aged 14-15, from both the Kawila Withaylai School and Navamindarajudis Payap School in Chiang Mai to visit the Pang Soong Lodge Outdoor Education & Research Centre for an Environmental English Camp.
Its aim is to spread positive environmental messages and lessons to young students in Northern Thailand in a fun and active setting that also encourages the use of English language.
At the Pang Soong Lodge, the students enjoyed fun, active and outdoor lessons about the environment, climate change and other ecological issues. The program included a nature walk, jungle lunch (cooked by the students), poster creation, puzzles, scavenger hunts and evening games. Additionally the students created video’s and Poweroint
The teaching team was led by Ms Lori Mack from Chiang Mai International School and Mr. Ramesh Boonrata, a Senior Lecturer from Mahidol Univeristy in Bangkok. Additionally, four students from Chiang Mai International School joined the campers and served as peer-translators for the weekend's activities.
With a focus on the environment, this Environmental English Camp served as a pilot for Pang Soong Lodge's summer camps beginning summer of 2008. New sponsors are also required for future events. For more information, please email info@track-of-the-tiger.com
30th January 2008 ABAC students enjoy life as a team building facilitator!
On the 29th January 2007, Track of the Tiger managed a fun and active Baht Builder Challenge at the Marriott Resort and Spa in Bangkok for our long term friends at Schlumberger PLC.
For the event, Track of the Tiger worked closely with Mr. Scott Smith, a lecturer at Assumption University in Bangkok (ABAC), to recruit 9 facilitators to assist in managing the event. Each Facilitator was trained thoroughly and then placed in charge of a 10-person team for the main event, supervising the international clients as they completed their team building programme.
The experience was an exciting and challenging one for the students and certainly provided some hands-on experience that they won’t forget!
28th January 2008 GE China and Asia Pacific enjoy the best of Chiang Mai!
On the 26th January, after holding team building for 150 participants on the 25th, Track of the Tiger organised a variety of tours all over Chiang Mai for GE China and Asia-Pacific.
The management and employees of GE enjoyed a tour of their own choosing, including a cultural tour of the city and Doi Suthep, a round of golf at Chiang Mai Highlands, a river cruise, a go-karting competition, a nature walk at the Pang Soong Lodge nature trails, an elephant trek and bamboo rafting adventure, plus a shopping tour!
Track of the Tiger was pleased to see the multicultural group enjoying such a wide variety of activities in our wonderful city.
